Your Doula Natasha

Pregnancy and childbirth is a unique season when the stories of two lives profoundly impact each other -- forever changed as a new story begins.

Whether it’s the first or the fifth, at home or at the hospital, how ever the details unfold, childbirth is an incredible moment.  But it is also a season that can  be overwhelming and challenging in many ways. However, you do not have to make this journey on your own.

About Natasha

When I look back at some of the key moments and seasons that shaped where I am today, I see the faces of a number of women who were there for me -- women who encouraged, supported, helped, and listened. I believe there is incredible value in being supported and encouraged by other women. Nowhere did I find this more true than in prenatal, labour and the weeks following the birth of my son. While the value of a spouse or partner never goes away and cannot be replaced, there is also incredible value in women supporting and standing with other women. My husband and I have been incredibly blessed by the support and encouragement of others, and it is my desire to see other women (and their partners) have this same support.

I also believe in the importance of families and believe by supporting the mother, helping to relieve fear and stress, and simply offering another set of hands the family is strengthened as they move forward into this new season!

I look forward to meeting with you and discussing how I can support you as your family grows!

Your Doula Natasha

Natasha grew up as the oldest  of seven on a farm in central Alberta, where she often helped take care of her younger siblings and acted as the sheep "doula" for their flock of sheep.

She moved to Calgary to attend SAIT and later to work for a non-profit as a photojournalist where she has worked for the past 7 years. In 2016, she started her journey to become a birth doula out of the desire to walk alongside other women in their stories.

Natasha and her husband and son live in Calgary, where they enjoy hunting for good chorizos and trying to avoid European bakeries (for the sake of their health) while discovering the ways the gospel and grace of Jesus Christ transcends our everyday lives, unique backgrounds and cultures.

Testimonials

Natasha was wonderful as our postpartum doula. Being first-time parents, we didn’t know what to expect when our baby boy arrived and often found ourselves overwhelmed. Natasha was highly knowledgeable, patient, and kind, and help us settle into our new roles. She was an expert on all things baby, and provided support that fit well with our family. We are so grateful for all the help and advice provided to us over the past few months. For those seeking a caring, flexible, and empathetic doula, we cannot recommend Natasha enough. Thank you again!

I would highly recommend Natasha Ramirez as a doula. My experience with her was nothing but positive. She was consistently there for me during my pregnancy, answering any and all of my questions. Because of her, I was educated, supported, and felt adequately prepared for the birth of my child.

"Natasha's presence during the birth of my son was caring, considerate and patient, she had a calm and comforting demeanour that was just what I needed during childbirth."

~ Paula Dee

Natasha is a Godsend to Henry and I. We couldn't be more grateful fo her loving compassion, wisdom and support. She was such a blessing that after four days of having met her, I gave birth to our little one! We initially planned to do pre-natal on the coming weekend but since my baby was very excited to come out, we didn’t have that chance. Everything was pronto at the hospital, we just clicked, I followed her every instructions from breathing to walking. Things went smoothly with her help and support, she is very passionate in what she does and any future kids I may have, I wouldn’t think twice of choosing her again! Thank you Natasha for believing in me.
